The Adult Nutrition & Dietetic Service, provides an integrated service across both our Hospital and Community sites meeting the needs of our patients across the whole of the Bolton population. The Diabetes Dietetic team is made up of 2.39 W.T.E Dietitians to provide a reach in service to the Adult Diabetes Service in Bolton (Band 7, band 6, band 4 Dietetic apprentice). We are looking to recruit a Dietitian who wish to develop their skills in supporting patients with Type I and complex Type 2 diabetes. The successful candidates will be part of the Adult Community Dietetics Team based in the centre of Bolton, providing an in-reach service to the adult Diabetes MDT.
Main duties of the job
You will be reviewing patients in a number of settings including the across the Bolton locality. Providing support in maternity and young adult clinics. The successful candidate will input into the diabetes MDT. Primarily the workload will include General Diabetes Clinics, Antenatal Clinics, Young Adult Clinics and some inpatient ward cover for diabetic patients.
As a department we encourage quality improvement and audit work.
You will report to the Diabetes Dietetic Team Leader, the successful post holder will bepart of the wider Bolton Foundation Trust Dietetic Department. The department is composed of two teams, acute and community with a total of 19 W.T.E staff. We provide an integrated service across both our Hospital and Community sites meeting the needs of our patients across the whole of the Bolton population.
We are experienced trainers for student dietitians currently providing P1, P2 and P3 placements with theUniversity of Chester, MMU and UCLAN.
The service operates a flexi-time working arrangement and recognises the importance of balancing the needs of work with family commitments. The post is a 37.5 hours/week post although part time hours may be considered.
