TB NURSE SPECIALIST Band 6
37.5 HOURS PER WEEK - PERMANENT POSITION
Description of Post
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our 'small but perfectly formed' TB team as a full time, band 6, TB Nurse Specialist.
The post is based within the Thoracic medicine team and includes working within the hospital, in patient's homes and at Bolton One clinic. The work will be both virtual and face to face. You will join a dynamic and friendly team of experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialists where no two days are the same.
We offer a flexible approach to encourage a good work life balance and cover a five -day week.
In return, we expect you to be proactive in your approach to learning and to be willing to work dynamically in order to care for our patients who cope daily with TB within our local community.

Main duties of the job
Working within the TB team would encompass screening, treatment and contact tracing for TB , alongside health education, incident management and public health responsibilities.
Our patient age group is from 0 -99 years, people of any age can be affected by TB. We treat whole families so good communication will be a key skill. You will be expected to carry a shared workload of patients and run your own nurse led clinics regularly, inputting the relevant data into the national databases as required.
Our clinic workload is delivered off site from the hospital at this time. We provide home visits for our patients to ensure adherence to medication and to assess for contact screening opportunities.
Due to working across multiple sites within the same working day, being a car driver is an essential requirement for this post.
