Job summary

B2 ward is looking for a deputy ward manager with strong leadership skills and passion and drive for quality and safety

Main duties of the job

The wards provide medical care for patients with a wide variety of conditions with acute and chronic disease. Applicants should have good knowledge around general medicine and looking after complex care patients and demonstrate excellent discharge planning skills.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, hardworking nurse with excellent communication skills & a passion for their role and improving patient care When working clinically we expect you to perform with passion and drive, provide clinically excellent care, and be supportive to patients, relatives, and other MDT members. As a Deputy Ward Manager you will be expected to promote and lead the delivery of an excellent standard of patient centred care in a supported environment. We support our nurses to learn advanced skills, and become competent in managing patients' needs.

You will also receive training to complete and participate in Route Cause Analysis, Rostering, Budget Setting and HR Management and you will be expected to deputise in the absence of the ward manager. This will include maintaining the high standards expected on the ward.

You should have a genuine interest of working within a specialist area and have an understanding of complex care. You must be an excellent communicator and have strong leadership skills. You will be able to provide quality care and be responsible for ensuring care is provided safely and to a high standard.
