Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Dietitian who wishes to develop their skills in supporting stroke patients in a hospital setting, based at Royal Bolton Hospital. Your caseload will include covering the stroke ward, being an integral part of the multidisciplinary stroke team (MDST) and a general medical caseload.
As a department we encourage quality improvement and audit work.
You will report to the Acute Teams, Team Leaders, the successful post holder will bepart of the wider Bolton Foundation Trust Dietetic Department. The department is composed of two teams, acute and community with a total of 19 W.T.E staff. We provide an integrated service across both our Hospital and Community sites meeting the needs of our patients across the whole of the Bolton population.
We are experienced trainers for student dietitians currently providing P1, P2 and P3 placements with theUniversity of Chester, MMU and UCLAN.
The service operates a flexi-time working arrangement and recognises the importance of balancing the needs of work with family commitments. The post is a 37.5 hours/week post although part time hours may be considered.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will attend daily ward rounds, assess and review stroke patients who require both enteral feeding and nutritional support. They will require a good general dietetic knowledge to be able to support patients with diabetes / risks of coronary heart disease.
The successful candidate will input into the daily MDT meetings, you will also link into the community stroke team and the community dietetic team to support your patients on discharge.
