The Access, Booking & Choice team at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individual looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied. The service is covered between 8-6pm Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday requirement when needed.
Duties will include liaising with patients and internal departments over the telephone, registering patients and their referrals, booking and confirming appointments You will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the desire to work in a patient focussed environment. You will also need to have good IT and organisational skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and confidently with people, both face to face and over the telephone, as well as work effectively as part of the team. The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is essential.
Main duties of the job
You will be trained and developed to be able to perform the following duties:
- Run off all clinical correspondence and put letters through the paper folding machine
- Put all appointment confirmation letters through the paper folding machine
- Delivery rounds 1 and 2 - drop off referral letters for triage and pick up once triaged, distributing to relevant team trays per specialty
- Stationery ordering
- 3 day turnaround printing - printing from Electronic Referral System
- Post and faxes - distribute to relevant team trays per specialty
- Team Email accounts - booking FU appointments
- Team NHS.NET account - printing new referral letters and adding referral/waiting list onto LE2.2
- Ward discharges - booking follow up appointments
- Choose and Book Referrals for review (Worklists) - printing from Electronic Referral System
- Printing appointment confirmation letters - from LE2.2
- Filing booked referrals in date order ready for taking over to Health Records prepping
- Inputting referrals, waiting lists onto the system
- Booking patients from the waiting lists (manual referrals) - ringing, agreeing/confirming appointments/cancelling with the patient - eg therapies, ante-natal, oral surgery
- Adding cardio cards to LE2.2 - referral , waiting list & booking
