Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Specialist Dietitian who has experience in diabetes wanting to develop their clinical and leadership skills. You will be involved in the transformation of a service aiming for gold standard care for diabetic patients who live in the Bolton area.
The successful candidate will join the diabetes team comprised of: six Consultants, ten Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Health Care Assistants, one Psychologist, rotational Podiatrists and two Dietitians (1 x band 7 vacant post, 1 x band 6). The team is based within a stand-alone diabetes centre on the outskirts of Bolton town centre.
Primarily the workload will cover General Diabetes Clinics, Antenatal Clinics, Insulin Pump Clinics and Young People Clinics as well as some inpatient ward cover
Main duties of the job
The role carries educational responsibilities for patients and other health care professionals which will be delivered in one-to-one sessions and group environments. The post does involve working within a multidisciplinary team with acute and community colleagues.

You will report to the Professional Service Lead for Adults Dietetics, being part of the wider Bolton Foundation Trust Dietetic Department. The department is composed of three teams, acute, community and diabetes with a total of 19 W.T.E staff. We provide an integrated service across both our Hospital and Community sites meeting the needs of our patients across the whole of the Bolton population.
We are experienced trainers for student dietitians currently providing P1, P2 and P3 placements with theUniversity of Chester, MMU and UCLAN.
The service operates a flexi-time working arrangement and recognises the importance of balancing the needs of work with family commitments. The post is a 37.5 hours/week post although part time hours may be considered.
