We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with an interest in joining our our friendly and dynamic team at the Royal Bolton Hospital. This post is for a team leader or someone who is interested in developing into a team leader role. The post holder will hold a clinical caseload in either critical care or within the stroke service. If you are interested in these areas but require some support in developing into this role support will be available . (Please state on your Application which Clinical area you would be interested in working in Stroke/Critical Care or interest in either)
The post sits within the Adult Nutrition and Dietetics Service, which provides an integrated service across Hospital and Community sites, meeting the needs of patients across the whole of the Bolton population. This post will be based with the acute Nutrition & Dietetics team at Royal Bolton Hospital.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be self-motivated, able to cope with the challenge of working in a busy, rapidly changing and unpredictable working environment and have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines. As part of the Nutrition & Dietetics team you will support team members in teaching, training and supervision of junior dietitians and assistants and provide clinical supervision for rotational junior Dietitians.
The dietetic department currently undertakes student training for P1, P2 and P3 placements and this role will be actively involved in supporting these placements.
You will be supported in developing your leadership skills and knowledge and be required to liaise closely with your colleagues to provide an excellent service. You should have good communication skills, be effective in multidisciplinary team working and be able to deliver both group education sessions and individual interventions. You will be required to undertake teaching/training of other health professionals and have the opportunity to be involved in, and in some cases lead on, research, audits and other service development initiatives both within and out of the dietetic department including the trust Nutrition Steering group.
