We are experienced trainers for student dietitians currently providing P1, P2 and P3 placements with theUniversity of Chester, MMU and UCLAN.
Main duties of the job
The post sits within the Adult Nutrition & Dietetic Service, which provides an integrated service across both our Hospital and Community sites meeting the needs of our patients across the whole of the Bolton population. This Band 5 position is currently based full time within the acute dietetic team at Royal Bolton Hospital. There may be opportunities to develop skills working within the community service if this identified by the post holder as area of interest. The community team are based within Lever Chambers Health Centre in Bolton Town Centre.
You will need to have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques and work to deadlines.
As part of your role you will be required to work both independently and as part of a team.
The role is as challenging as it is rewarding, working in a busy working environment.
You will carry and independent caseload and with the support of a dietetic assistant cover a variety of wards including complex care, general medical, respiratory and orthopaedics. You will also have the opportunity to gain skills working with senior dietitians within speciality areas including stroke, gastro and surgery. You will also cover a regular outpatient clinic.
You will be involved in regular training of patients e.g. including pulmonary rehab as well as nutrition training to the wider MDT.
