An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our the Pennine Lung Service as a respiratory nurse specialist for a 12 month secondment.
Imagine a role combining hospital and community work! Our multi-disciplinary team operates across various settings, from busy hospital wards to patients' homes and specialized clinics. You'll assess and treat patients in environments tailored to their needs, ensuring personalized care.
In this crucial role, you'll work with the Home Oxygen Service, conducting important oxygen assessments and implementing treatment plans that empower patients. Your expertise will significantly enhance their quality of life.
Additionally, engage with our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service, where you'll deliver exercise programs and self-management education. Help service users gain control of their health, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to promote their independence and well-being.

This post is a 9-month secondment post to cover maternity leave and to ensure that the requirements of the service are met, is full time. There may be a requirement to work within the community clinic setting.
Main duties of the job
Join our dynamic team as we co-ordinate and deliver exceptional home care services for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). At the heart of our mission is providing tailored treatment programmes, working collaboratively with the Home Oxygen Service to ensure comprehensive care.
As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating individualised treatment plans. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing respiratory care pathways, fostering effective communication with other agencies, and upholding the highest standards of care.
You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our pulmonary rehabilitation lead, shaping and expanding our services to better meet the needs of our community. Compliance with professional policies, national guidelines, and our Trust's protocols is paramount in ensuring the best possible care for our patients.
