Job summary
This post is an exciting opportunity to join the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neuroscience (MCCN) based within the Northern Care Alliance (NCA), which is one of the largest neuroscience centres in the UK. In addition, the post holder would have sessions with the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine, one of the leading genetic units in the UK.
The post base location is at MCCN at Salford Royal Hospital of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. The Neurology department has a wide range of subspecialist services. Applicants are invited to enquire regarding any points about which they may be unsure.
Main duties of the job
The Neuropsychiatry service supports each subspecialty particularly Epilepsy, Movement Disorders and Dementia. In addition, there are general neuropsychiatry clinics. The neuropsychiatry service also supports with the diagnostics and management of complex neuropsychiatric symptoms on the regional inpatient neurology ward.
This post will continue to develop and expand the Neurology service, providing outpatient clinics and inpatient liaison at the Salford Royal Hospital of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
The Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine at St Marys' Hospital sits within the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be part of the Huntington's Service. This specialised service sees patients throughout their journey, supporting patients with their neuropsychiatry burden alongside a team of geneticists, specialist nurse and a movement disorders expert.
