Job summary
We are pleased to advertise a vacancy for a full time, Band 4 Waste Officer to work between Fairfield General Hospital (Bury) and Rochdale Infirmary.
You will support the Sustainability Team and the Group Head of Waste and Recycling to achieve waste reduction and legislative Conformance throughout the Northern Care Alliance Estate.
Main duties of the job
- Monitoring the Quality of Waste Services throughout the NCA and Implementing the Trust Waste Policy, HTM 07.01 and NHS England Clinical Waste Strategy.
- Identifying areas of the waste routes that are not compliant and delivering Training to Small Groups where necessary.
- Delivering awareness raising activities, campaigns, and events to increase staff motivation to reduce all forms of waste
- Work in clinical environments with sensitivity to the privacy and dignity of patients when contact is required or occurs.
- Support the Sustainability team with other relevant tasks as required.
- Assisting with the introduction of the NCA Waste Revolution that has been developed to improve segregation and compliance within the NCA.
- Assist with all areas of Waste and Recycling improvement to deliver the NCA Green Plan and help the NCA become a sustainable healthcare provider.
