Main duties of the job

As part of the dynamic and dedicated Continence and Stoma Specialist Service, the post holder will have the exciting opportunity to work autonomously, providing exceptional care while harnessing specialist skills in assessment. This role is vital in tailoring and implementing personalized care plans for patients in both clinical and community settings, ensuring each individual receives the attention they deserve.

Embracing all facets of Continence and Stoma care, the post holder will embark on a journey of professional development supported by specialized training to achieve key competencies. Collaboration will be at the heart of this role, as the individual will engage with various agencies within the Local Care Organisation to foster a seamless, coordinated approach to patient care, while also championing education and resource sharing among team members and stakeholders.

Additionally, the post holder will take an active role in monitoring product provision costs, ensuring optimal resource utilization for maximum patient benefit. By demonstrating strong leadership, teamwork, and delegation skills, the post holder will play a pivotal role in meeting the diverse needs of patients and enhancing the overall service delivery.   • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2)
  • Degree / Diploma in Nursing studies or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuous professional education and development
  • Post basic qualification in specialty
  • Nurse prescribing qualification V150/V300

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification eg ENB 998
  • Health related degree

Knowledge, Training & Experience

  • Ability to work autonomously as specialist practitioner
  • Male/female catheterisation
  • Experience of working within multidisciplinary community setting
