Health Care Assistant - Evening and Overnight District Nursing

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Evening and Overnight District Nursing service providing a high standard of nursing care with an aim to support patients in their own homes across the city of Salford. You will be working as part of a large diverse team and will be supported within your role by highly qualified members of the team.

You will be providing night sits to vulnerable adults who are either ventilated overnight or approaching the end of their life, supporting both the patient and their families/carers.

The core hours of this job are 36 hours providing 4 night sits per week based in the patients home.

You will require good organisational and communication skills with previous care experience within a health or social care setting and

Main duties of the job

The evening and overnight district nursing service is a diverse and highly skilled team who provide nursing care to all Salford residents, The team has a large caseload number but also has a large amount of crisis activity each evening for this we aim to prevent hospital admission .

You will be providing support and treatment overnight to the patient enabling them to remain in their own home.

The core hours of this post are 4 night sits per week 22:00-07:00 (36 hours). working across a 7 day service.Due to the nature of the post it is expected that you will have a full driving license and will have regular use of an appropriate vehicle (as determined by the Trust). The District Nursing Team has an Lone Worker Policy to support safe working.
