Job summary
A vacancy has become available for a Band 3 Service Co-ordinator - 12 months secondment/fixed term contract for 37.5 hours per week at The Royal Oldham Hospital with some possible Hybrid Remote working after training completed and competencies reached.
You will be responsible for a range of administrative duties to support the service and Management and will be required to work as part of a team in the Interpretation Department. You will be responsible for the allocation of interpreters for both face to face patients and also cover telephone interpretation need. You will be required to work as part of a team in the Interpretation Department.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for a range of administrative duties including the allocation of face to face and telephone appointments using substantive, bank and agency staff, allocating language interpreters, initiating 2 or 3 way telephone interpretation calls, inputting of OOHS usage, supporting staff in whatever is required.
You will often be the first point of contact for incoming calls and queries from staff and patients. You will have clear communication and liaison skills and will require a high degree of organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems. You will be responsible for managing and prioritising your own workload and will be required to use your own initiative.
You will receive appointments via the online interpreter booking system, Zipporah, email and telephone, to data input accurately those appointments and to ensure all communication is passed over to the relevant staff member. Patients calls are dealt with in accordance with the NCA Trust Values. You may be required to demonstrate flexibility and be able to cover a weekend shift at short notice. You will be confident in communication with clinicians and patients in a professional manner.
