Job summary
The Postholder will take the lead role in overseeing and managing the compliance and delivery of Estates and Building Engineering services activities to approximately 80 community property sites within the NCA estate portfolio.
The role involves assuring the Trust always has power, lighting, water, medical gas supplies, heating, cooling and ventilation and other systems to ensure patients can be treated, staff can work, and all functions of the Community estate are operational.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for managing the comprehensive mechanical/electrical and building fabric services to all NCA occupied areas across a wide range of community properties ranging from general offices to clinical and intermediate care environment overseeing a multi-disciplined Hard FM environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring safe systems of work are in place and maintained in line with HTM, HBN and recognised codes of practice and for specified sites act as Authorised Person with duties for Lifts, Ventilation Systems, Working at Height, Water Systems and Pressure Systems (this list is not exhaustive) this will be following appropriate training, assessment and formal appointment by the Trust.
- Overseeing landlords and specialist 3rd party contractors across a wide range of Hard FM, reactive and maintenance activities and be responsible for specific projects such as minor works and refurbishments and to support development works on new sites as well as ensuring compliance to all mandated statutory requirements within the Hard FM environment. Policing the compliance activities across all community sites. You may also be required to provide practical training and guidance to others and evaluate work outputs.
- Lead and manage directly employed maintenance providers as well as liaise and advise 3rd party landlords to ensure full Hard FM compliance for the safety of the built environment and that of the users within them.
