Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of the tiniest patients and their families? The Royal Oldham Hospital NICU, part of the esteemed North West Neonatal Network, is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Clinical Educator to join our vibrant team.

Our state-of-the-art unit offers comprehensive care for sick newborns, featuring:

  • 9 Intensive Care Cots
  • 9 High Dependency Cots
  • 19 Special Care Cots
  • 4 Transitional Care Cots

We're proud to provide specialised services such as Neonatal Outreach, an integrated Allied Health Professional (AHP) team--including a dedicated psychologist--to support families and staff alike. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our pursuit of UNICEF Baby Friendly Accreditation for outstanding infant feeding support and parent-infant bonding, as well as FiCare accreditation--a testament to our partnership-centred approach. We utilise advanced therapies like Nitric Oxide and Therapeutic Cooling to ensure the best outcomes for our most vulnerable babies.

Main duties of the job

Become a Leader in Neonatal Education and Excellence

We are seeking a dedicated professional to take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of neonatal care. As our Neonatal Lead, you will spearhead key areas of organisation, education, and development, bringing your clinical expertise and deep knowledge to the forefront.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing expert guidance on the identification, assessment, treatment, and management of neonates
  • Supporting and mentoring our talented Neonatal Nurses and Midwives in their training and professional growth
  • Driving continuous improvement in educational standards through clinical audits, evidence-based practice, and innovative teaching
  • Leading by example, inspiring colleagues with skilled professional leadership and a commitment to excellence

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC Pin - Adult / Child or Registered Midwife
  • Post registration qualifications in neonates
  • Educated to a first level degree

Desirable

  • Postgraduate certificate in education

Knowledge

  • Significant experience working at band 6 or above on a neonatal unit
