Within Children's Services, we are looking to employ enthusiastic, motivated, forward-thinking Staff Nurses to work within the Health Visiting Team within the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR) area.
We work in partnership with the local authority and health services on a challenging and rewarding caseload and are piloting new and innovative ways of working. We strongly encourage creativity and new ideas.
Main duties of the job
Community Staff nurses work within a Health Visiting team across locally defined areas and support the service across HMR, to provide a safe service for all preschool children and their families.
The post holder will be based within a team of Health Visitors and skill-mix staff. You will be providing universal and enhanced Health Visiting services to children and families from all cultural diversities on the case load. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in public health, child development and multi-agency working focusing on the diverse communities within HMR.
You will have an ability and willingness to contribute effectively to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. You should also have evidence of recent professional development and an understanding of Community Practice and Public Health Issues.
There is a robust preceptorship and induction programme.
You will be supported in your development through line management, My Time appraisals and Supervision.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills in public health, child development and multi-agency working focusing on the diverse communities within Rochdale.
Staff nurses who join the team will be supported to apply for the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting) if they wish .
