Job summary

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) is a large teaching hospital with approximately 850 in-patient beds, employing around 7,000 staff and serving a population of approximately 220,000. A comprehensive range of services are provided locally in Salford, across Greater Manchester and wider still, on a national level.

As part of the development, the Trust embarked on a 47 million pound new build to ensure there are adequate facilities to deliver major trauma and emergency services within a state of the art new theatre.

As a Team Leader for Neurosurgical Scrub and Support Teams, which includes leadership of spinal , ENT and emergency theatre night teams, you will need to be able to provide senior clinical leadership to support patient centred care, which is of a high standard.

Main duties of the job

As a key leader in our theatre team, you will take charge of the quality management within your designated area, providing vital senior support to ensure seamless operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include coordinating and delivering exceptional patient care in the Operating Theatres, ensuring each procedure meets the highest standards.

With your extensive theatre scrub expertise, you will oversee the daily management of your clinical area, guaranteeing care is delivered in line with Trust policies and maintaining accurate records. You will lead and support a team of practitioners, fostering a culture of excellence and evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Your role involves planning and coordinating theatre activity for both elective and emergency cases across multiple specialties. You will manage staffing, including appraisals, rotas, recruitment, and supervising learners. Additionally, you will provide expert advice to patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, utilizing clinical audits, research, and teaching to continuously improve standards.
