Main duties of the job

What you'll do:

  • Use your clinical expertise to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate personalised care programmes for a specific patient group, while supporting the care of all patients on the ward or unit
  • Assist in managing daily ward operations, ensuring smooth organisation and effective communication at all times
  • Provide vital support, mentorship, and initial guidance to junior staff and newly qualified nurses, helping them develop their skills and confidence
  • Lead the education, development, and supervision of learners and unregistered staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Apply advanced clinical skills to deliver nursing interventions that meet individual patient needs, always based on the latest evidence and best practice
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, making appropriate referrals and ensuring holistic patient care
  • Offer compassionate support and care to patients and their families, respecting their privacy, dignity, and individual needs
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimise outcomes
  • Practice in strict accordance with professional, ethical, and legal standards, maintaining the highest standards of care
