Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our busy and progressive Medical Illustration department, to fulfil the role of deputy/senior medical photographer. You will be joining a team who are committed to providing a specialised Clinical and Ophthalmic diagnostic photography service to the various hospitals that form part of the Northern Care Alliance.The clinical photography service provides services to all clinical specialties, across all 4 sites incorporating: Salford Royal Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary. Additionally Ophthalmic services are delivered at Oldham ICC. Medical Illustration also provides a clinical photography service for tissue viability vascular and podiatry across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate is expected to hold a BSC in Clinical Photography & have relevant expertise and experience within this profession and experience at supervisory/team leader level; you will also be expected to have specialist knowledge in all relevant aspects of clinical and ophthalmic photography and preferably video editing skills and be prepared to work across all sites to support the needs of the business.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the clinical photography team, which consists of four Band 5 photographers and report to the Medical Illustration Manager. Your role will also be to deputise for the Medical Illustration Manager when required.
The candidate must have excellent communication and people skills ability and be able to empower team members, supporting the Medical Illustration Manager in delivering an efficient professional clinical photography imaging service trust wide.
