Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Adult Audiologist to join our Oldham Community Audiology Service team

The Oldham Audiology Service is friendly, forward thinking and experienced with a good skill mix. It is an innovative and dynamic service that provides treatment and advice to adults and children with hearing and balance problems.

You will provide specialist adult services and some routine adult services on patients in line with service requirements as part of the team within Oldham Audiology Services footprint mainly at The Integrated Care Centre

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and caring person to complement our existing audiology team. The role requires post qualification adult audiology experience in order to undertake complex adult audiology work.

Key Requirements of the Person Specification: o BSc / MSc in Audiology or the equivalent professional qualification (ONC BTEC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements with a Professional Qualification in Audiology (BAAT Part I and II). o RCCP/AHCS or HCPC

Hours of work: The service operates over the core hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

The Specialist Audiologist will provide audiological care to adult patients with complex hearing conditions. This will include triage of GP referrals, assessment of new patients and follow up of patients that have more complex hearing issues. It will incorporate advanced hearing aid fittings, auditory rehabilitation and tinnitus management for adult patients that require specialist interventions.

The Specialist Audiologist will develop, implement and evaluate individual treatment programs. This will incorporate a multi-agency approach to audiological care.

The Specialist Audiologist will supervise audiologists and students as and when required and will be responsible for development reviews of lower grade staff.
