It is an exciting time to join the the Rochdale team, as we been awarded GREEN TAAS status and Surgical hub accreditation from our recent GIRFT review, supporting the High Volume Low Complexity service we deliver to our patient population.
Rochdale's Theatre expansion programme, will incorporate an additional theatre and clinic services to support valuable perioperative services which will benefit the whole of the NCA and the patients we serve.
In this position you will cover a variety of specialties including Urology Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastics and Orthopaedic Surgery.
This is an exciting position for someone who would like to be part of a developing service.
You can expect support from the senior leadership team to develop in this role.
Main duties of the job
I this role, you will work alongside our established Band 7 team, delivering leadership when coordinating the department on a daily basis, accepting additional responsibilities such as sickness management, leading a team of band 6s, contributing to the Theatre Excellence programme and identifying cost improvements and more efficient was of working. You will deputise for your Lead nurse when required.
The practitioner should be an expert in the assessment, planning, and implementation of all areas of perioperative care from patient's admission to discharge, which facilitates clinical practice development. They will manage unit staff including appraisal, rota's, recruitment and selection and the supervision of learners. Support and lead a team of theatre staff in the delivery of evidence based patient centred care, which is of a high standard. They are responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures maintaining associated records. Utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.
