Job summary
We have a vacancy for a Band 4, full time Application Support Officer based at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
You will provide administrative assistance to the Diagnostics & Pharmacy application delivery team in the support of digital applications and act as the first point of contact for enquiries from external users. You will maintain documentation (SharePoint, database, resources) and assist in application support and training end users of the systems.
You will assist the Diagnostics & Pharmacy application delivery team in supporting the NCA clinical systems through the full system life cycle.
You will help with administration and daily tasks that make the department run smoothly.
Through work shadowing and study, you'll have the opportunity to build your knowledge and skills.
Main duties of the job
Communications and Relationships
Communicates IT information to users, contract staff and other team members.
Provides user training.
Leads by positive example to ensure that all team members are following the Trust values.
Contacts users for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Analytical and Judgement Skills
Compares facts and situations that require the comparison of a range of options.
Supports the Application and Software Specialists with data gathering.
Produces data in an easy to interpret format.
Accurately takes the minutes of meetings.
Data entry, data manipulation and general data and word processing.
Planning and Organisational Skills
Assists the Application Support manager in the development and preparation of the resource plan.
Following ITIL methodology whilst undertaking support tasks.
Plans and arranges meetings.
Physical Skills
Detail physical skills required to fulfil the job duties. It considers hand-eye coordination, sensory skills (sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell), dexterity, manipulation, requirements for speed and accuracy, keyboard and driving skills.
Hand eye co-ordination for use of keyboard.
Speech for use of telephone and conversing with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
Able to work with speed and accuracy.
