Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to work as a clinical lead in the paediatric service at Oldham Hospital . The post holder will support the respiratory service in the acute and community setting, in addition to holding a caseload in the outpatient department for a range of developmental/MSK conditions.
You will have a keen interest in the field of paediatrics and have extensive experience in the relevant fields at band 6 level or above . You will provide valuable support to patients, and their carers/families with range of respiratory conditions, but may be involved in assessment of patients admitted with other conditions too. You will support discharge plans in the appropriate way including care planning and education. The role will provide elements of respiratory care which may be in the community setting as well as providing assessments and treatment plans in the outpatient department for a range of developmental/MSK conditions.
You must possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as the drive, vision and initiative to motivate others and meet the demands of the service. You will be experienced at maintaining patient records and databases and have knowledge of the relevant clinical pathways.
This role will be required to support weekend therapy services which provides respiratory cover for the acute settings , that is predominately adults but includes paediatrics too.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work collaboratively with patients and professional staff delivering high quality care in both the hospital and community settings.
You will be expected to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients in the acute/community/outpatient setting where appropriate.
You will be responsible for service development, representing at relevant forums where required
You will be responsible for supporting the training and development needs of others including students.
You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, have an understanding of managing your own caseload, demonstrate effective teamwork and lead audit programmes where required.
You will be supported in your own development by the Operational Lead, peers and members of the MDT
