Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and proactive Clinical Administration Team Manager to join our busy and dynamic team in Clinical Administration covering all of our hospital sites - The Royal Oldham Hospital including Whitney Court and OICC, Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for supervising the Clinical Administration Service and supporting the team under the direction of the Operational Support Manager and Lead Operational Manager.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive staff management service including workload planning, holiday and sickness management, personal development planning and staff induction.

Essential
- BTEC certificate or equivalent demonstrable skills/knowledge/ experience in a range of line management procedures
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Mathematics and English
Desirable
- Hold a diploma or be currently working towards a diploma in business administration, customer service or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent demonstrable skills
- Word processing - Qualified to RSA level III/NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification /demonstrable skills (60 wpm at 98% accuracy)
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Essential
- Supervisory experience of providing day-to-day supervision of a team of staff.
- Experience of staff management including sickness absence management, restoring and appraisal/personal development.
- Experience of developing policies and task specific standard operating procedures.
- Experience of successfully working within tight time frames and to deadlines
- Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload and that of others, effectively, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills enabling tact, diplomacy and courtesy at all times when relaying sensitive information
- Able to recognise and resolve routine issues referring to a team leader/manager where appropriate
- Outcome focussed - ability to set targets and get things done and to multi-task
