Surgery at Fairfield General Hospital is expanding.
We have exciting new opportunities for a band 5 staff nurse's
We have opened a unit for inpatient surgical patients here at Fairfield General Hospital.
We have 3.0 wte 12 month contracts available to cover maternity leave.
This will be a 21 bedded inpatient surgical unit
We are the only Site that takes ENT patients and has expanded this to inpatient urology, Gynaecology patients and general surgery patients.
You must possess excellent interpersonal/ communication skills and a desire to work in a busy fast paced environment.
Patient care must be at the heart of everything that you do and we welcome staff who can demonstrate this.

Main duties of the job
There is part time and full time positions for Staff Nurse available on Ward 12 at Fairfield General Hospital.
we have 3.0 full time positions available for 12 months contracts, with a possible potential to join our team permanently.

Ward 12 is fast paced medical/ surgical ENT ward.

Ward 12 at Fairfield General is looking to recruit band 5 Staff Nurses both newly qualified and experienced to join an enthusiastic team committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients.
Traditionally this is an ENT Ward however we have a mix of medical and surgical beds making this a great environment for nurses wanting variety and cases that will enhance your nursing skills.
Initiatives such as end PJ paralysis, using e-obs for the deteriorating patient, c.diff awareness using tests of change to decrease infection across the hospital and pressure ulcer prevention all feature in monthly ward meetings where staff are encouraged to have a voice.
