Job summary
Applications are invited for 1 Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician.
You will join a team of community paediatricians in Salford who work together to provide and Community Paediatric services for Salford children. Community Paediatrics operates in a locality system with a consultant lead for each area. Outpatient clinics are held in the community in purpose-built health and social centers.
You will undertake a role in a locality including chairing that area's neurodevelopmental panel and undertaking locality clinics. You will also take part in the child protection clinic rota. You will be expected to work in the multidisciplinary complex physical needs clinic . Other areas of interest will be accommodated where possible in discussion with the wider team.
Main duties of the job
Applicants should have or be nearing their Paediatric/Community Paediatric CCT and have full GMC registration.
The pediatricians are now co located in the new Childrens service HUB with the wider children's Teams. The facilitates Multidisciplinary working and improved communication between teams.
Salford is an inner city and one of 10 metropolitan districts in Greater Manchester and has a population of 230 000 with 48 000 children under 16. In recent years, there has been considerable urban regeneration and numerous initiatives to improve public health.
Salford Royal has teamed up with housing association Salix Homes to provide a 26-apartment complex for doctors, nurses and other clinical staff new to the Trust. Please enquire upon appointment to review availability.
