Job summary
An enthusiastic and innovative Clinical Technologist is sought for the Clinical Engineering team of the Medical Device Service Department at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
You will join an expanding team of clinical scientists and technologists which supports both clinical service development and clinical research through innovative hardware, software and system-integration solutions.
You'll be part of a team that maintains strong collaborative relationships with key clinical and clinical research groups, local universities, and industry suppliers. The primary focus of this post will be to provide engineering support to clinicians, which will involve CAD design, medical image processing, and 3D printing and model production for surgical planning support.
This post may be of interest to industrial engineers, academic research staff and clinical technologists from other fields who wish to transition into Clinical Engineering within the healthcare profession. We welcome all qualified applicants to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Technologist responsibilities are to use CAD and medical image processing tools, and 3d printer and other devices for the production of anatomical models for surgical planning, and patient-specific instruments and patient positioning devices for use during surgery. They will manage 3D printing equipment and consumables stock to ensure maximum uptime for services.
The post holder will support Clinical Scientists on project tasks for production of other medical and research devices as required, maintaining evidence portfolio for all designs and may occasionally carry out calibration and servicing of devices.
