Job summary

An opportunity has opened up to join the Occupational Heath Unit for the NCA to cover the maternity leave of the permanent postholder.

The main purpose of the job will be to provide a high quality professional day to day administrative service to the wider team and provide admin support to the clinicians within the team including booking / amending appointments, responding to queries

You will assist in general office administration as required and may be first point of contact for our patients when they contact the unit either by phone, e-mail or in person. You will join a very busy team where no two days are the same!

Occupational Health works alongside recruitment, making sure that staff are fit to commence in their role and provide any advice or support required to help the staff member to fulfil their duties.

The aim of the NCA Occupational Health Department is to maintain the health and wellbeing of employees, therefore increasing productivity, reducing sickness absence and assisting in the recruitment and retention of our employees.

Although this post is primarily based at Fairfield General Hospital, we do have other sites at The Royal Oldham Hospital and Salford Royal Hospital and across the wider NCA where you may be required to work to support service requirements as needed.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve the coordination and implementation of office procedures and will require a high degree of organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems.

You will often be the first point of contact and a focal point for the service requiring clear communication and liaison skills. The role will also require the monitoring of e-mail inboxes for both the OH and Physio Service. You will be producing appointment letters along with generating other communications as required, including reminders and DNA's in accordance with set policy and procedures.

You will work as part of a wider team to ensure the delivery of a quality administration service for the Occupational Health Service, including providing reception cover as required.
