Job summary
Salford Audiology are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and caring person to complement our busy Audiology team for 19.5 hours per week over 3 days. The working hours and days will be agreed with the successful applicant.
Salford Audiology Service is a multi-site service, which is provided across Acute, Community and Educational settings. We provide a full range of Adult and Paediatric Audiology Services, including Newborn hearing screening Programme, Hearing assessment and Rehabilitation, Baha, Comprehensive Vestibular Assessment and Rehabilitation and Hearing Therapy. Travel to Gateway centres across Salford will be a requirement of the post holder.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Audiology Practitioner will work as a member of the Audiology team under the direct and indirect supervision of an Audiologist. The post will involve direct patient care, in respect to dealing with basic enquiries and performing routine non-complex tasks on a daily basis which will include hearing aid repair and maintenance. There will be a mix of both clinical and administrative duties. You will support the administration team with appointment bookings, stock control and general telephone enquiries.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience of working in a healthcare environment. Good communication skills and IT skills are essential requirements for this role along with interest in the field of hearing and balance.
Training will be provided on-site however attendance at an accredited Assistant Audiology Practitioner course is expected. There will be a multiple competency-based assessment that you will undertake to enable you to fulfil your role.
