Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist infant feeding practitioner to work in partnership with the health visiting teams and family hubs within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR), leading a team to deliver the infant feeding programme expectations of HMR`s family hub and start for life programme.
Main duties of the job
- To deliver the infant feeding programme expectations of the Family Hubs and start for life programme.
- To lead an Infant feeding team who will support multi-agency partners/buildings to become "Baby Friendly" spaces in line with Unicef guidance with the undertaking of regular audits.
- To work towards gaining accreditation for Baby Friendly Level 3 within all individual family hubs within the borough.
- Develop a co-produced infant feeding network of peer supporters to enhance the dedicated team.

To establish an equipment loan scheme in all neighbourhoods which are resourced with good quality, relevant pieces of equipment and to develop comms to support this.

To deliver specialist clinics/drop-ins for mothers who experience a range of complex feeding issues such as diabetic mothers, breast implants, tongue tie.

To align Infant feeding online resources with Our Rochdale website and Essential Parenting to enable signposting to one place for all families needing help and support.

To undertake any other reasonable duty, which is appropriate to the band, when requested by senior staff.

- Registered Specialist Community Health Public Nurse (SCPHN) or Midwife on Part 1 of the NMC register
- UNICEF BFI training certificate
- Teaching and assessing qualification/experience

- IBCLC or equivalent qualification
