Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for suitably skilled, committed and enthusiastic Registered Learning Disability Nurses to join a well estblished Learning Disability Service to lead on Positive Behaviour support accross the Salford system.
As part of a fully integrated Health & Social Care Team, you will be committed to achieving high quality health and social care outcomes for people with learning disabilities in Salford. The team promotes the health, independence and well-being of adults with learning disabilities and their carers through an integrated approach to assessment and support, working in close partnership with professionals from other disciplines.
You will have a passionate and supportive team with you. From your induction and throughout your time here, you'll enjoy formal and informal supervision, support and development - from both managers and your colleagues.
The post holder is a based within Learning Disability Service and has knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS). The post holder will support the service in facilitating and delivering PBS assessment, advice, support, and training and will have direct involvement with staff supporting individuals who have a learning disability and behaviours of concern that is challenging the service to facilitate the management of risk.
The post holder will work closely with people supported, managers and their staff teams, carers, other health and social care professionals and partners in Salford.
Main duties of the job
You will have a genuine commitment to partnership working and be a strong team player working flexibly with a "can do" attitude.
You will be part of the psychological Therapies team, which is part of the Learning Disability service.
You will lead on the implmentation of the Salford PBS strategy and as part of this you will deliver training to providers and familes accross Salford
You will liaise closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure your expertise supports the best outcomes for the individual, their families and their carers
You will be adaptable in your approach and utilise effective communication skills & tools to promote person centred practice
You will work independently but under the direction and supervision of senior staff to complete support to a range of providers across a range of community settings.
