Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the Interventional Radiology Nursing Team as their SMA specialist nurse.
We are looking for the successful candidate to be able to provide the highest quality nursing care to all patients and their relatives while they are in the Radiology Department by using clinical experience and enhanced skills.
The successful candidate will:
Run the SMA injection service in the Angiography Department, assisting the lead radiographer and consultant radiologist in the co-ordination of SMA patients who require image guided injections.
Rotate between all areas of the Radiology Department but to mainly work in the Angiography Department where you will be responsible for the implementation and smooth running of the clinical sessions.
Assess own workload of patients/clients and maintain associated records.
Work outside of a normal working day. This includes an on call and/or rostered shift responsibility at weekends.
The post holder will scrub/monitor and assist the Radiologist for all Radiology Interventional Procedures.
The post holder will supervise and assess students, cadets, and unregistered staff.
You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high quality nursing care within the radiology department as well as contributing to developing new services, continuing to improve existing services and the support and development of the nursing team.
Main duties of the job
Being able to provide the highest quality nursing care to all patients and their relatives while they are in the Radiology Department by using clinical experience and enhanced skills.
You will also participate in the 24/7 on call service providing both the IAT stroke service and vascular emergency service.
