Job summary

Imaging, Pathology and Pharmacy services across Salford and Pennine Acute were brought together to create a cohesive diagnostics and pharmacy service, called the NCA Diagnostic and Pharmacy Group (D&P). Since this date we have been transforming and aligning our clinical service to ensure safe consistent and high-quality care across our organisation.

D&P supports the four Care Organisations (Bury, Oldham, Salford, and Rochdale). The Group has approximately 1,700 staff and runs services from multiple sites across the NCA. D&P staff are a diverse and highly skilled group, responsible for the delivery of diagnostic services alongside clinical teams.

The Imaging Quality Safety Manager will lead a small team who are responsible for overseeing all elements of Imaging Governance, Risk Assurance and Radiation Protection, working closely with D&P Governance Manager and D&P Associate Director of Governance.

Main duties of the job

You will be a key member of the Imaging Senior Management Team, responsible for the provision and management of operational governance trust wide, managing all matters with regard to quality, safety, risk management and performance standards. You should have significant experience in Radiology governance and Radiation protection.

You will be responsible for the line management of the NCA Deputy Imaging Quality & Safety Manager and will be the lead Manager for implementation and Supervision of Radiation Safety legislation related to IRR 2017 and IR(ME)R 2017.

You will take the lead role for radiation protection across the Trust, investigating incidents of radiation exposure greater than intended and acting as a core member of the Medical Exposures Group and Radiation Protection Committee.

Although the advert states the Royal Oldham Hospital as a base site, this can be discussed at interview and could be any hospital site within the Northern Care Alliance to suit the successful applicant.
