Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Paediatric Nurse with at proven post registration experience to provide excellent nursing care as part of the innovative team on the PANDA Unit at Salford Royal Hospital.
As part of the busy A&E department at Salford Royal, The PANDA unit offers emergency care to over 20,000children every year.Children and families will present to triage, receive emergency care andas requiredspend time on the incorporated children's observation and assessment unit within Panda.
The diversity of clinical presentations range from minor illness and injuries to the much more serious major injury and illness. The multi-disciplinary team is led by a team of PaediatricMedical and Nursing EmergencyConsultants, Advanced Practitioners, Nursing sisters / Staff nurses, Integrated Community Nurses, Play Specialists, Care support workers / house keeper and Physiotherapist.
Main duties of the job
We are very passionate about the learning and development of all our staff on the Panda Unit as well as giving you the opportunity to play a key role in the continuing development of the service.
As the department is busy, flexibility is essential, as working hours will vary dependent on the needs of the department. You will be required to work a range of shifts, inclusive of weekends and nights.

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to deal with sensitive/confidential issues, who is able to work independently whilst being a real team player. You should possess excellent communication skills, a wide range of knowledge and skills and experience of dealing with patients and families within a hospital setting.
