Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Nurse

Job summary

As a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse you will provide evidence-based specialist palliative care and advice to patient, families and staff to ensure the delivery of high quality, person centred palliative care over 7 days.

You will provide specialist advice, education and training to all members of the multi-professional team across all care settings and work in collaboration with the Lead Nurse for Palliative and End of Life Care.

In return you will join a supportive team and be provided with opportunities to develop within the role .

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist nursing advice for complex palliative referrals, advising the multi professional teams on clinical management plans as required.

Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure that patient and carer needs are met.

Support the Lead Nurse in the development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols
