Job summary
Tudor Court Intermediate Unit in Heywood has a new and exciting opportunity for a part time (job share) Activity Coordinator. The unit is a 24 bed Intermediate Care Unit providing short term rehabilitation to patients to enable them to return to their own homes. The unit is very friendly and we are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated person to join our team.
As an Activity Coordinator you will be responsible for organising and creating a varied activities programme, from organised hobbies to group events, all of which will promote independence, choice and dignity for our patients.
You will be expected to get to know our patients, their likes and dislikes, their interests and their life stories so that you can deliver bespoke activities that suite the needs each individual.
The team at Tudor Court is a very friendly one and we are therefore looking for someone who is cheerful, outgoing and compassionate, we are looking for someone who is naturally creative and has a genuine enthusiasm for the people we care for. We are looking for someone who is organised and who has had experience in working within a care environment. You need to be a team player as well as be able to work autonomously with the patients.

Main duties of the job
Encourage patients to participate in activities - groups or individually.
Provide an interesting and varied activities programme.
Promote events/fundraising and promoting the unit alongside the Unit Manager.
Contribute to maintaining a safe and effective working environment.
Promote patients being active during their stay.
The post holder will work within a large MDT which includes Health Care, Domestic, Catering , Therapists, Pharmacists and GP . The Unit is managed by the Unit Manager/Team Leaders and has Admin support.
