Job summary
To be part of the team based at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary that proves community Anticoagualtion service to the Wigan, Wrightington and Leigh areas. The team you will be joining is responsible for the sampling & testing of patient bloods to produce results relating to continuing patient anticoagulant therapy enabling the provision of a timely, comprehensive, and high-quality Anticoagulation service.
Applications are invited from Candidates wishing to join the Anitcoaguation service in the role of Senior Assistant Technical Officer. This service is a join enterprise between Wrightignton, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
Duties are varied and include collection, testing and processing of patient blood samples, data input, cleaning and maintenance of equipment and other general duties. Some duties require the processing of human diagnostic samples, such as blood and other duties will include the lifting and moving of moderately heavy loads.
Main duties of the job
You should be very organised and methodical with good communication and excellent team working skills. Accurate data entry with efficient typing skills is required. Previous laboratory experience may be an advantage but is not essential as full in-house training is given. Candidates will need to able to drive and have access to a vehicle as they will be expected to work on more than one location during the day. The will also be expected to maintain and promote professional image of the NCA Trust, and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching hospital NHS Foundation Trust

- Help train less experienced staff in own area of work and competency.
