Main duties of the job
Salford Care Organisation is the largest care organisation in the NCA. Salford is the place, which is taking bold, pioneering steps towards delivering a world class, fully integrated care system. Salford Care Organisation is responsible for delivering a range of acute, community and social care services within the community and specialist services to Greater Manchester and beyond.
Within the Care Organisation there is a leadership team of directors who have clear accountability and authority to manage the day to day running of services in Salford and enable the safe delivery of high quality care at scale and ensure that our patients, no matter where they are treated experience a consistently high standard of care.
About us
The leadership team consists of a Chief Officer, Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Director of Operations, Director of HR, and a Finance Director. This site-based operational management model helps strengthen and improve senior leadership support for the teams delivering the services and care to our patients. Local leadership teams can focus on strengthening relationships and joint working across health and social care with local care partners including Local Authorities, local commissioners, and the local community and voluntary sector.
Across the Northern Care Alliance, we are committed to providing the safest care possible and giving patients and staff a positive experience. This is a chance to step into a Medical Director role as part of a senior leadership team that are shaping how we provide health and care to the local community. Salford Care Organisation has approximately 9000 colleagues and provides services to Greater Manchester and beyond with a number of tertiary services. Later this year the new Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital will open on site providing lifesaving treatment to patients.

You will be a full and active member of the leadership team and contribute to medical leadership across the wider Northern Care Alliance. The Medical Director role is a demanding but exciting role and we will discuss with the successful candidate the amount of clinical activity they wish to maintain.
