Main duties of the job

To oversee the provision of Linen Services to the hospital site and other such customers as may from time to time be provided with Linen Services. To assist the Laundry Service Managers in the provision of these services in an efficient and effective manner

Job description

Job responsibilities

Responsible for the organizing the sorting team during the categorizing of soiled linen prior to the wash and the production team. Responsible for polymarking, processing and control of contracted work.

Responsible for the to maintain all records required for the efficient and effective provision of such services including Staff Attendance, Accident Reports and Payroll Information.

To meet regularly with the Laundry Floor Managers to review the service and promote improvements in service delivery and specifications. Responsible for ensuring the laundry is kept clean and tidy, ensuring all linen, chemicals and protective clothing is used and stored appropriately.

Responsible for ensuring all completed issued form/ delivery notes/are returned to the office. In conjunction with the laundry floor manager examine random samples of processed linen to ensure it meets standards laid down in the trust and other customers specification documents.

To respond to urgent ad-hoc requests for linen and to pack or distribute such items as required to enable customer needs to be met. To perform all the duties of a Laundry Assistant as and when required.

To undergo training when required, if identified as appropriate by the Trust. To assist in the recruitment, selection, training, and development of personnel and the welfare of staff

Ensure that safe working practices are always maintained and that duties are performed in accordance with Health and Safety and other relevant statutory regulations.

Comply with Trust Policy and Management instruction about Health and Safety and fire prevention and not to do anything that may endanger yourself and others.
