Clinical Support Worker - Outpatients

Job summary

The Main Outpatient Department at Oldham Hospital holds clinics for many different specialities within several different locations and we are currently looking to recruit a clinical support worker to the existing team.

The department provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge across a variety of specialities as you are expected to work across all areas with support from registered nurses

Main duties of the job

  • Work within clinics as allocated by the nurse in charge
  • Support trained staff by assisting in the delivery of care to the patient directly or indirectly
  • Assist with some nursing duties unaided at the discretion of a trained nurse, following training and assessment of competence
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the department team & patients and visitors to the department
  • Carry out routine and specific procedures required for the day-to-day running of the department that require no interpretation where diagnostic results are produce
  • Maintain good standards of cleanliness in the department

  • L2 Health related vocational qualification eg NVQ or willingness to complete level 2 apprenticeship within 18 months of employment
