Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our extensive Band 5 rotation.
Rotations take place every six months across the following specialty areas: Major Trauma, Stroke Acute and Stroke Rehabilitation, Neuro Rehab, Acute Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Elderly / Medical, Emergency Assessment Unit, Post Acute Rehabilitation, Intermediate Care, Adult Learning Disabilities and Homesafe Discharge to Assess Team. All our rotations will provide you with excellent opportunities to develop a wide range of clinical and professional skills in a friendly and supportive environment at an outstanding teaching hospital.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out holistic Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions, considering the persons physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs. You will work in a variety of settings including acute and rehab wards, out-patients and community bedded units and patients own homes. You will work with the MDT to achieve patients rehabilitation goals, facilitating discharge home or to appropriate rehabilitation settings.
You will be supervised and supported by highly skilled and experienced Band 6 and Band7Occupational Therapists and work collaboratively with the MDT. The Occupational Therapy Department strives for continuous service improvement and professional development is supported. We have a comprehensive preceptorship programme and place great importance upon training and supporting all members of our team.
