Job summary

The Emergency Village is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible team member to join our experienced secretarial team, supporting our clinical staff daily (Monday - Friday 16.00 - 20.00, plus alternating weekends, with the flexibility to occasionally work during to weekday daytime to cover leave).

Our new team member will have the option of working from home during the evenings, as well as being based within the hospital at the weekend. All job share and flexible working requests considered.

Main duties of the job

Duties involve managing live audio typing of clinic letters and other correspondence, answering the phones, taking minutes from meetings, general admin and clerical jobs as required. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for care, you will bring your experience and skills to compliment the service and drive continuous improvement for our patients.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Possession of EDCL or alternative computing qualification
  • Qualification in medical secretarial studies

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Previous administrative experience with excellent knowledge of good practice and procedures
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • An ability to communicate with people at all levels
