Job summary
We are looking for motivated and experienced practitioners who can bring enthusiasm and energy to this exciting role in the Critical Care Directorate of the Division of Surgery based at the Oldham Care Organisation.
The Greater Manchester Critical Care Network have supported the introduction of a programme to train Advanced Critical Care Practitioners, the next co-hort will commence training in September 2023 and it will take two years to complete the training.
Interviews for these posts will be held in July/August 2023. Each trainee ACCP will be paid at Band 7 while undertaking training, progressing to Band 8a once training is completed and successfully achieved.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will be based at the Royal Oldham Hospital, undertaking a two-year Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice with aligned FICM Advanced Critical Care Practitioner competencies, enabling them to work towards independent, autonomous clinical practice.
During training, a medical supervisor will be allocated to each individual to ensure successful achievement of the clinical skills required to fulfil the role. Essential personal study time will also be provided.
You will contribute to further developing quality and patient experience agendas and playing a fundamental part in driving forward the Group values.
About us
Oldham Care Organisation is responsible for delivering healthcare services at the Royal Oldham Hospital and within thecommunity. The hospital has a full A&E department, including a specialist one for children, and offers a comprehensive range of acute and general surgical services, including vascular surgery.
Oldham Care Organisation has recently been given the green light for a new £28m four-storey extension to the main hospital. Designed with patient wellbeing forefront of mind, it will house two new 24-bed general surgery wards and a state-of-the-art emergency theatre within the current theatre unit. The development will allow The Royal Oldham to operate as the hub site for high risk and emergency general and colorectal surgery for the north-east of Greater Manchester.
