Job summary
We require support for our busy information access department. The post holder will be expected to provide administrative support to service users in release of health records under the Data Protection Act and information under the Freedom of Information Act. We take a high volume of post and telephone calls into the department and we need dedicated clerical officers. The role is an admin function and the post holder will need to be skilled in other administrative aspects such as MS Office. This is not a reception role. We support an agile working philosophy once you have completed training.

- Dealing with subject access requests and Freedom of Information - local training available
- Monitoring of release dates to ensure that all recipients receive their correspondence within the legal timescales

Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for assisting the Information Access Team lead and Information Access Manager in the support of the day to day admin functions of the Information Access Team. This will involve registering new subject access requests, preparing notes from the Trust EPR/Evolve system, checking notes for accuracy, third party and sensitivity, releasing notes in paper and electronical form, X Ray images to disc, responding to email and phone enquiries from patients, their representatives and other Trust teams, review and redirection of "un addressed post", low level audit checks, covering post room (envelope checks, case note tracking), Maintenance of departmental trackers.
Specifically, the role is associated with general clerical duties supporting Data Protection compliance within the Trust.
The role is crucial to the success and smooth management of all aspects of this function, including the commitment to and support of the following initiatives:
- Data Protection Act/GDPR compliance
- Freedom of Information Act compliance
