Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Acute Medical Unit at Fairfield General Hospital

The Acute Medical Unit is a fast paced environment where patient are admitted for assessment and treatment of medical conditions. The unit has 50 beds. The ward has a dedicated nursing team who manage the patients along with our own MDT - pharmacy team, therapy team, admin team and medical team and consultants.

We focus on delivering a high standard of care to all our patients, and you will be an active team member in ensuring this.

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to help support our patients with all aspects of daily living and to encourage independence where possible.

We would expect you to have good time keeping skills. be able to work well in a team but also be able to use your own initiative, with patient care being at the centre of all work carried out.

Main duties of the job

Main purpose of the job:

  • To undertake the role of assisting in the delivery of all aspects of care to ensure patient centered care is delivered safely and in a timely manner.
  • To provide clinical support as required to help ensure the efficient and effective running of the unit at all times.
  • Assist in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care and enable patients to achieve all aspect of daily living.
