Job summary
We now have vacancies for Accident and Emergency Receptionists to work at Salford Royal Hospital for 30 hours per week.
The post holders will work as members of a team based in the Emergency Department and will be responsible for providing friendly, confidential, speedy, courteous and effective reception and registering service for patients, relatives and visitors attending the department.
Main duties of the job
This will involve registering and discharging patients on the Emergency Department IT system, GP OOH system, booking follow up appointments for various out-patient clinics and recording admission details on Patient Centre. In addition staff will deal with a range of face to face and telephone enquiries from nursing and medical staff, patients, relatives, GPs and external agencies providing general advice and information. A comprehensive range of administrative and clerical duties are undertaken.
The reception service operates 24 hours 7 days a week. All staff work flexible shifts, unsociable hours and public holidays and undertake additional duties to ensure an efficient and quality service is delivered. Reception staff may also be called in to work in the event of a major incident.
