We have opportunities to work as a Healthcare Support Workers within the Oncology and Haematology department on Mulbarton ward, Acute Oncology/Haematology service and Weybourne Day Unit - please specify which area you would like to apply for in your supporting statement.

Under the direction of the registered professional, work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care delivered with dignity, respect and compassion. Act as a role model for other colleagues and provide support and guidance as appropriate to role. This job description is to be read in conjunction with the scope of practice for band 3 HCSW - clinical care at NNUH.

Main duties of the job

Mulbarton Ward is a 34 bedded ward caring for patients with cancer. we care for patients who need chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, iodine therapy as well as supporting patients with their side effects from their cancer and treatments. We care for patients at the end of their life and provide palliative care. For any questions for Mulbarton Ward; we work 12 hours shifts 07:00-19:30 or Nights 19:00-07:30, please contact Helen (ward manager) 01603 647891/helen.payne@nnuh.nhs.uk for further information.

Acute Oncology/Haematology service sees unwell patients due to complications of their disease and treatments. Their aim is for admission avoidance in an outpatient setting. - For Acute Oncology and Haematology service - they have 37.5 working hours offered are Monday- Friday 09:00-17:00. Weybourne Day Unit has 27 chairs to deliver outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy. For Weybourne day unity- working hours are 37.5 hours working 8:00-18:00 - Monday to Friday (4 working days) please contact Tina (unit manager) on Marion.Shaughnessey@nnuh.nhs.uk
