Job summary

We are looking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking person to join our Paediatric team as a Waiting List Coordinator for the Children's Day Ward, where you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate and efficient care. This role is central to ensuring patients receive timely treatment, requiring accurate, real time management of waiting lists in line with Trust policies.

The Waiting List Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting waiting list management and supports delivery of a high-quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone to take responsibility for managing waiting lists, ensuring full compliance with local and national targets and policies. This includes sending relevant documentation to patients and accurately inputting information into appropriate IT systems.

The right candidate will have a strong understanding of the Patient Access Policy and consistently work in line with Trust and national procedures, meeting targets through real time data entry while upholding patient confidentiality.

Handling the rescheduling of patient operation appointments efficiently and politely, always aiming to provide a high standard of service. Ensuring patients receive all relevant information regarding the date of their planned admission.

To oversee daily operating lists, ensuring they are full and accordingly meet the demands of the consultants and the Unit.

To be able to work independently, using their own initiative to effectively organise and prioritise their own workload. In addition, working well as part of a team, contributing positively to a supportive and collaborative working environment.
