Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital

18 Week Pathway Coordinator - Neurosciences

The closing date is 13 April 2026

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Neurology department, playing a key role in tracking and supporting patients throughout their 18-week referral to treatment (RTT) pathway. You will be responsible for ensuring patients progress efficiently through each stage of their journey, identifying and addressing any delays or potential breaches in a timely manner.

Working closely with the management team, administrative staff, and clinicians, you will ensure accurate and up-to-date patient pathway recording using PAS and RTT coding. A strong focus on data quality will be essential, as you will be expected to maintain high standards of accuracy and consistency across all records.

In addition, you will contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for Patient Tracking List (PTL) meetings. This will involve analysing PTL and data quality (DQ) metrics, interpreting trends, and presenting clear, actionable insights to support service improvement and performance management.

The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, as well as the confidence to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

Main duties of the job

At NNUH, we understand the unique challenges involved in stroke care. We are committed to delivering innovative, evidence-based treatments while providing compassionate care to our patients and their families. Our multidisciplinary team works closely together to ensure each patient receives the highest standard of care in both acute and rehabilitation settings.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team. You will support the Divisional teams and Information Services in providing complete, accurate, timely and appropriate data and information for 18 week mandatory returns within national and local timescales.

Assist in producing and developing reports from RTT data for use in the management and achievement of the 18 week target. Assist in improving the quality of data associated with RTT by developing expert knowledge of RTT rules and providing training and support to operational teams as required, by ensuring that best practice is applied consistently and that common errors are identified and addressed.

You will also support secretarial, outpatient and waiting list staff in data entry and validation and to ensure that all validation is complete within required timescales, undertaking validation work directly as required to achieve this.
